Yena Kim, based in Korea and Germany, approaches technology not merely as a tool but as a theme, medium, and material, exploring the ways in which technology infiltrates human life and society, as well as the ways in which it shapes human interactions and society. In her work, she focuses on the complex interplay between technology and human existence, centering on the concept of the body. The body in her work is not simply a physical material, but a living testimony that embodies personal, historical, and temporal experiences, revealing unique and irreplaceable moments of truth. Beginning with the immersive theater piece „Theater without Stage, Solo Exhibition without anyone : Waves and Light“ in 2017, she has continued her creative endeavors in visual arts and interdisciplinary collaborations, participating in projects, including <Kunst am Wegesrandand>, <the 2023 public art project : Seoul Museum of Art: Nature to Art, Art to Nature>and Project<Non-standard Immortality Contract> Recently, she received the Heussen Perspectives Award at the 2024 POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair and the KOCCA Short Pitch category at the EBS International Documentary Film Festival (EIDF). |
